Health and Pharmaceuticals

The importance of care and innovation for human health has never been more widely recognized by society than it is today. The pharmaceutical industry has always played a significant role by investing in the development of new drugs to support people’s health and lives.

Health is essential in building healthy and productive societies, while ensuring that people can live longer and better should be a commitment shared by all. Companies, governments, the medical community, institutions and patient organizations all have a critical role to play in achieving health and well-being for the general population.

According to the World Health Organization, the most important healthcare challenges include access to better and more effective drugs, the need to invest in improving healthcare systems and to effectively tackle current and emerging healthcare problems. The COVID-19 outbreak has clearly demonstrated that we need global responses to global pandemics.

Now is the time for more comprehensive analysis, paying attention to and understanding the role of patients, the importance of public-private partnerships, the importance of transparency in research and development (R&D) regarding the price of drugs, access to those drugs and therapy adherence, the importance of technology and the role of companies to significantly improve perception of the industry, while building a better business environment.
