A journalist from the Catholic Pontifical University, he has a master's degree in Government and Public Management from the University of Chile. As well as an M.Sc from the London School of Economics and a Ph.D in Political Communication from the Complutense University of Madrid.

Founder and executive director of the Challenges of Democracy Institute and representative in Chile for the constitutional process of the Max Planck Foundation for International Peace and the Rule of Law.

Consultant and academic expert in political and corporate communication, management of public affairs and complex stakeholders, socio-environmental and reputational compliance. Director of the Environmental Compliance Program for Companies of the Adolfo Ibáñez University.

Juan Cristóbal advised governments and led presidential campaigns in Chile and abroad, he was also a consultant in more than 40 projects in public and private institutions in Chile, Colombia, Peru and Mexico; He is a columnist for the evening newspaper "La Segunda" and was also a frequent contributor to the newspaper "El Mercurio". He is the author of researches, papers and the book "Chile Corporativo: El desafío de conectar con el Chile ciudadano" (Corporate Chile: The challenge of connecting with citizen Chile) and one of the editors of "La IV República: un acuerdo constitucional para Chile" (A constitutional agreement for Chile).

He has formed part of the LLYC Advisory Council in Chile, since 2018, collaborating closely on public affairs projects and high-level relationship strategies.
