Executive Chairman of Roca Junyent
Born in Barcelona in 1969, Joan Roca I Sagarra earned a degree in law from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) in 1992. In 1993, he enrolled in Yale University and went on to complete his master's degree in law in May 1994. In 2009, he enhanced his experience with an MBA from Harvard Law School and became general manager of the Instituto de Empresa-Executive Education in 2013.

In July 1994, Joan joined Uría Menéndez. In January 1999, he joined Roca Junyent as a partner before ultimately becoming its president, a position he still holds today. He gained his professional experience advising companies in the fields of banking and finance, working on commercial and corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, private equity and company refinancing. He is the board secretary for several companies in regulated sectors, including insurance companies and financial entities.

Joan is heavily involved in teaching, leading classes at UAB, Universitat Pompeu Fabra and ESADE. He is very active both in public and with organizations. He served as president of the "la Caixa" Association of Scholarship Holders, is a patron of the Catalan Down Syndrome Foundation and is a writer for and contributor to multiple economic and legal journals. He is co-chairman of Terralex Government and Regulatory, vice chairman of APDC, a member of IBA's Academic and Professional Development Committee and a member of the Comisión Jurídica de Fomento del Trabajo.
